Opening weekend is the movie industry's bellwether; when a film does well at the box office those first three days, it plays longer in the theaters where it opens and expands into more cities in the following weeks. With the September 26-28 opening weekend in mind, FIREPROOF Action Squads allow churches, businesses, groups, and individuals to support FIREPROOF and impact marriages in their communities.

How can I get a group to see it in my town?
An Action Squad Show Time will allow you to purchase all the seats for a show time at your local theater. You can then give away the tickets or resell them. This is a great opportunity for a small group or a Sunday school class to host an outreach event; for a church to honor local firefighters, first responders, and other heroes; or for businesspeople to impact their customers and employees.

What if it's not coming to my town?
If FIREPROOF is not scheduled to open in your community (or within 45 miles), an Action Squad Town will ensure that FIREPROOF plays in a theater nearby. You and your group(s) will need to commit to purchasing 1,000 tickets for opening weekend. You can then resell the tickets through your church or organization, or you can provide them as gifts.

What is the cost of Action Squads?
Action Squad Show Times will cost approximately $1,500-$2,000 to purchase the 200-250 tickets for one showing at a theater. Action Squad Town will require between $7,000-$10,000 to purchase 1,000 tickets.

What if I can't afford that?
While FIREPROOF Action Squads can be organized and funded by one person, they are created and run optimally when they are led by an organization or a group of organizations working together (including churches, businesses, ministries, community marriage initiatives, and others). Here are some examples.

Why the emphasis on childcare?
If you have children in elementary school or younger, it's hard to have a movie date night. But if Action Squads are supporting parents by providing childcare, parents will be much more likely to be part of your movie night. Be sure to see the Childcare Brigade

Will our Action Squad be able to have some time in the movie theater after the showing?
It depends on the local theater manager. If spending 5 or 10 minutes talking after the movie is important to your group, you can make that request of the theater manager. Remember: buying out a show time does not guarantee having extra time available after the movie. Theaters generally prefer to have moviegoers leave quickly after a movie so that they can begin another show time as quickly as possible.

How does my Action Squad purchase our tickets?
Once your theater is locked in, your Provident Films rep will introduce you to their Group Sales contact. You will work directly with that person to purchase your tickets. Many theaters offer group-ticket discounts in packages of 50 tickets, so as an Action Squad, you'd be eligible for the discount. (Ironically, most theaters offer the discount only in 50-seat blocks, so you may have to pay full price for a few tickets if your theater doesn't seat a multiple of 50.) A Provident Films representative will be working directly with you to help provide insight and direction for helping you run an Action Squad. They can help:
